Los Angeles native, Sarah Stephanie Monte is interested in research that reflects diversity in culture and environment. Through her work in journalism she has learned how media can better serve communities by providing an accurate voice for people. She is not afraid to dive into stories at unexplored depths, Sarah makes time to enjoy new heights outdoors and loves to swim, skateboard, and hike. She is currently investigating hydraulic fracturing at the Inglewood Oil field and the impact it has on people and natural resources. Sarah is compelled at how the internet has innovated the exchange of information in the last decade, the social liveliness of being ‘online’, and its ability to expand communication across space.
