Residents who live near the Sriracha factory in Irwindale are complaining about an odor released by the factory. The factory sits in a quiet neighborhood. You might not be able to smell the odor all the time, but residents claimed when it comes, it is really strong. Irwindale city manager John Davidson says the smell gets worse in the evening when the wind pushes the irritants into the community. The city of Irwindale filed suit against the company in Los Angeles County Superior Court on October 28. David Tran, the CEO of the company told the LA times that he was surprised by the complaints. He warned the price of Sriracha might go up if the court orders the factory to stop production.
