This Halloween eve, marks the 75th anniversary of the famous Orson Welles' and the Mercury Theatre's, "War of the Worlds." The nearly 60-minute piece is remembered for being so convincing that it made over a million Americans believe that Martians were actually invading the state of New Jersey. While most radio work of the Golden Age of Radio may have been forgotten, this adaptation of H.G. Well's science-fiction novel, is still celebrated today. I spoke with RH Greene, an Orson Welles expert and the producer of the documentary " War of the Welles," to hear what he had to say about this momentous piece of history. Later, Host of KPPC's Off-Ramp, John Rabe, tells us about the more complete version of the original "War of the Worlds' broadcast they found.
