Workers staged a one-day strike outside the LAX branch of the westin hotel this morning, arriving as early as 6:30 a.m. to protest what they say are working conditions that don't allow them enough time to properly clean the rooms, which they are then discplined for leaving dirty.

The workers held signs featuring pictures of bedbugs, which they say are difficult to identify and for which they can be cited for reporting to management, even though that is the protocol.

Representatives of the hotel say that they are in current contract negotiations with the union, and are unable to comment.
