On Monday, California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White announced that all 23 CSU campuses will appoint advocates for sexual assault victims.

I spoke to Mike Uhlenkamp, Director of Public Affairs for California State University, about this new plan and the number of advocates that would be assigned to each campus.

According to Uhlenkamp, a confidential, sexual assault victims advocate will be appointed to every campus by June 2015.

The advocates will be independent and work outside of the University's investigation processes.  The number of advocates assigned will depend on the size of the student population of each campus.
