Covered California announces enrollment numbers

At a news conference today, proponents of Covered California announced that over 3 million Californians had registered for healthcare under either Covered Califronia or Medi-Cal. This number is already surpassing the six-month base prediction in five months.

Despite these high numbers, registrations among Latino communites have lagged, particularly when compared to the amount of total Latinos in California. At today's conference, speakers such as Covered California Executive Director Peter Lane and famed labor leader Dolores Huerta spoke about the need to increase the number of Latino registrations.
