Cal State students are pushing for mandatory ethnic studies courses to be taken for their general education requirements. They believe the new revisions to the general education curriculum does not focus enough on ethnic diversity. A news conference was held today to present a new proposal that requires students to take an ethnic studies course. Faculty members opposed to this issue believe there is enough room in the curriculum to take an ethnic studies class if need be.
