CSULA demands mandatory ethnic studies courses

Cal State Los Angeles students are demanding mandatory ehtnic studies courses for the general education requirements. A news conference was held on Tuesday to present a proposal that requires students to take one ethnic studies class as part of their general education curriculum. Students and some faculty believe that the current curriculum does not focus enough on ethnic diversity despite the addition of diversity classes. Students and faculty say they will continue to fight for this issue and are hopeful they will achieve their goal.
