Hundreds gathered in front of LA City Hall on Tuesday to help celebrate Black History Month.

The event placed a special emphasis on the contributions of African-Americans to the city of Los Angeles, dating back to the first settlers of the city.

Several guests were honored as well, including actress Angela Bassett, R&B Singer Charlie Wilson, and federal judge Consuelo Marshall.
