Union Pacific Railroad invited media and law inforcement Thursday to board a train with locomotives from Union Pacific, BNSF Railway, Amtrak, and Metrolink to highlight the need for safe behavior around railroad tracks.  The famous commercial railway celebrated its reduced employee injury rates over the past ten years.  A spokesperson from the company noted that railway incidents are completely preventable whereby both drivers and pedestrians should merely be more aware of their surroundings.  The safety initiative involved a train making 30-minute runs through several railroad crossings throughout Los Angeles.  Union Pacific is working towards achieving zero incidents and zero injuries in relation to their railroad.
