On Jan. 28, 1986, the world watched as the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded --  only 73 seconds after launching. All seven crew members perished. Barbara Morgan, a school teacher, was selected to fly on the next shuttle after the accident as the first educator in space. On August 8, 2007 -- 21 years after the Challenger disaster – Morgan strapped into the Endeavour. She told our Detours reporter she had weighed the risks -- and she was ready to go. Detours Reporter Kristin M. Doidge produced this story.
