Protestors gathered on Martin Luther King Blvd. near Vermont to chant and march through a McDonalds restaurant as a part of a nationwide strike against the mistreatment and low salary of fast food workers. Protestors shouted phrases like “I AM A WORKER; I AM A MOTHER” and community leaders gave speeches up until it was time to march inside the McDonalds to confront its manager. The goal is to raise the minimum pay from $8 an hour to $15 an hour.
