President Obama released his budget proposal plan for 2015 Tuesday. The plan includes a push to raise the federal minimum wage to ten dollars and ten cents per hour.

The plan also revealed 40 Promise Zones, which are opportunities for low-income communities to become eligible for federal grant money to improve education and job training, said democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass who represents California's 37th Congressional District.

"He's also calling for resources for universal preschool and for job training money and so it's a very exciting budget," Congresswoman Bass said."Now of course I hope my republican colleagues can get onboard in some form or fashion."

However, some politicians criticized the President's budget plan. One critique of the budget plan is that anti-poverty programs should be changed because they don't motivate people to raise their income, according to a statement from republican Congressman Paul Ryan.
