Meet Compton's new mayor Aja Brown, an accomplished and educated 31-year-old. Brown has high hopes for the troubled suburb. She hase recieved a lot of support from the community and is already implementing new techniques to help combat Compton's many ills.

A previous verison of this article stated that Brown is the first female black mayor of Compton. This is wrong. The first black woman to be mayor of Compton is Doris A. Davis. I apologize about the innacuracy.
