Brazilian Blowouts are all the craze now-of-days for hair fanatics looking for a new way to straighten those curly or frizzy locks. The hair treatment promises straight hair for months after one salon visit.
But, the new procedure has the Food and Drug Adminstration claiming that products by GIB LLC, Brazilian Blowout, have traces of formaldehyde. In 2011, the State of California sued the makers of Brazilian Blowout products for failing to warn consumers that their products contain the cancer-causing chemical. On September 24, 2013, plaintiffs stated their cases in L.A. County court against the hair company, saying they had false advertising.
Despite the claims, the Brazilian Blowout continues to be a popular procedure for many L.A. salons.
