About twenty people gathered under the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office building in Downtown L.A. on Tuesday to call for an immediate release of Gurmukh Singh, an immigrant who has been detained for nearly half a year.
Five months ago, Singh and his family went for a scheduled immigration interview when two ICE officers approached him and took him into custody. It all happened right in front of his two young daughters.
Singh has been detained since then, and now, he might face deportation.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice is helping the Singh family with their case in the hopes Singh can be released within 24 hours.
