Public interest research group CALPIRG and research and policy center Demos released an analysis today of the increasing domination of elections by large donors.

The report says that just 864 large donors in California contributed as much as the at least 34,000 small donors combined in its congressional primaries, ranking it 10th.

Some analysts wonder how effective the actions proposed by the report are in empowering small dollar donors.
