MLS unveils new team In Los Angeles

MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced the plans for an expansion team in Los Angeles at a press conference in Hollywood. The team, LAFC for Los Angeles Football Club, will debut in the MLS in 2017. Magic Johnson, Mia Hamm and Tony Robbins headline a 22 member ownership group. The announcement came three days after the MLS disbanded Los Angeles based Chivas USA. Chivas USA folded after an unsuccessful 10 year run. The owners of LAFC said they are in the process of looking for a location for a new stadium.
