LA City Councilman Richard Alarcon sentenced to jail

Richard Alarcon, the former LA City Councilman for the 7th District was sentenced to 120 days of jail. He was found guilty of voter fraud and perjury, all because he lied about his residential address.

He is not the only politician who has been lying about where he lives, he is the ninth official in the LA County to be prosecuted for this type of fraud since 2002.

Alarcon will also serve 600 hours of community service and is banned from holding public office for the rest of his life.
