He dressed Jackie Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and A-list celebrities like Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. Oscar de la Renta died Monday night after nearly a decade-long battle with cancer. He was 82. 

Da La Renta's designed intricate, feminine, and glamorous haute couture. The legend is referred as the "sultan of suave" and the "sultan of chic" by constantly dressing "ladies who lunch." 

“My all-time favorite designer has passed away. Oscar, it was an honor to wear your creations and to know you. In loving memory,” tweeted Taylor Swift.

"Oscar de la Renta's remarkable talent was matched only by his generous heart. I will always be grateful for his friendship & beautiful life," tweeted Bill Clinton.
