Justin Simien's "Dear White People" hits theaters

After two years of production and a long search for studio financing, Justin Simien's satirical social commentary film "Dear White People" will enter theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 17. USC's African American Cinema Society hosted Simien, his producers and several cast members for a screening and Q + A at the Ray Stark Family Theater. Simien discussed the process of debuting his first feature film, the prevailing stereotypes of black cinema and entertained questions from a lively audience.
