The postseason drama continues for L.A.'s NBA teams. Mike D'Antoni resigned as the Lakers' head coach yesterday after they declined to extend his contract past three years. He leaves two years into a three-year contract and will take home less than half of his $4 million salary for the unfinished year.

Now, the search is on for a new head coach. Eric Pincus writes for the Los Angeles Times' "Lakers Now" blog and says that the team should focus on finding a good long term fit.

"They just need to find the best talent out there, the best coach out there, and someone who's got the vision to see the big picture long term," he said.

Pincus said he thinks Kevin Ollie is the "ideal coach" for the Lakers, "both in how he communicates with players and how he coaches on the floor."

Ollie also has ties to Kevin Durant, who could be a target for the Lakers as a free agent in the future. Kobe Bryant's uncertain future makes top talent a priority for the Lakers.

The team is unlikely to name a new coach before the draft lottery later this month.
