California women still not earning as much as men

Women in California earn 83 cents for every dollar earned by men. That might seem low, but it's actually five cents more than the national average. Researchers at Mt. Saint Mary's College's forum on the status of women and girls in California stressed that this is still a major problem and encouraged attendees to take action to improve inequity issues for women.
