The LA Police Commission will make changes to their use of force review guidelines. The commission explains they have been reviewing the police officers' actions leading up to the shooting in the past even though this was never a part of the written guidelines.

The commission stressed this was not a result of a flaw in the training exercises and will not affect LAPD officers' day to day activities.

The commission says this decision was made to clarify the review process when they evaluate whether an officer used excessive force.

The decision was made after the police commission found eight LAPD officers violated the policy when they fired at two women during the manhunt for Christopher Dorner. The women were just passing out newspapers.
