Many people probably don't know it but November 19th is International Men's Day.  The objective is to focus on men's health, improving gender relations and gender equality for social awareness.

In honor of this day, the LA County Domestic Violence Council had a panel dedicated to the discussion of the barriers faced by male victims of domestic violence.

A study from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention reported in 2010 that 40% of domestic abuse cases include men.

Societal issues of male domestic abuse victims is rarely addressed. The panel hopes that discussing these issues will bring awareness and acceptance of male victims.
