Family and friends say goodbye to Emily Ware

A memorial services was held for Emily Mason Ware at Grant AME Church in South LA on Tuesday. Ware was the second African-American woman deputy sheriff in LA County. She became a teacher for 21 years after her retirement at the county.

Ware also co-founded Project Jordan, a foundation helping high school graduates who cannot afford to go to college. Hundreds of students have received help in the past 50 years.

Ware was 97 years old.
