As an experimental form of currency, Bitcoins rose to international prominence by offering users unrivaled privacy when conducing transactions. When the exchange rate began self-levitating with astounding speed, Bitcoins gained more of a following among investors hoping to reap huge profits with minor investments up front.

One restaurant has earned a spot on the bleeding edge of high-tech culinary culture in Los Angeles without so much as having to print a new menu. Starting Nov. 12, Le Petit Jardin allows customers to pay for meals via Bitcoin, an option that stands to save the restaurant hundreds of dollars normally spent on credit card fees.
