By the time they made it to LA for their first show, Saint Rich's frontmen Christian Peslak and Steve Marion had already logged years on the road and in the studio together.

Before they were Merge Records' latest foray into the world of "mainstream indie music" ("Whatever that means," as Marion says) the songwriting duo at the heart of Saint Rich where highschool friends.

Then they were best known for Marion's solo project, Delicate Steve. Peslak played a role in that project's road act, getting behind his partner's soaring guitar lines with synths, backup vocals and a cherry-red Telecaster.

The new project sees them both in a new light, even though the songs are old. Hear recordings from their show at the Echoplex and listen to their thoughts on touring under a new guise in this piece, which features reporting by Andy Vasoyan.
