Government shutdown puts hold on FCC applications for small radio stations

The Federal Communications Commission was set to begin accepting applications for low-power FM licenses today. This may have been the biggest expansion in broadcasting in US History, but the government shutdown has halted it. Small start-up radio stations that were preparing to apply currently cannot even access their applications online.
