This week, we only discussed two topics, the Affordable Care Act and the government shutdown.

The Affordable Care Act reached a new phase on Tuesday with the opening of the healthcare exhanges. Each state is responsible for their own exchange, but the federal government is running the operations in thirty-four states for at least this opening year. We talked about the law in its entirety. Denise Guerra, a guest contributor on Political Talk, talked about the affect the Affordable Care Act has on students. She also stayed for both discussions.

The government shutdown is in its third full day. We talked about all aspects of the government shutdown and discussed which party - or individuals - is to blame.
