Weemes Elementary School kicked off a three-week read-a-thon, where students will read as much as they can to help hospitalized children.

Barbara Saltzman, Executive Director of the Jester & Pharley Phund, created the program in 2001. She went to Weemes to get the children excited to read.

The program is funded by a USC Good Neighbors Campaign Grant.
