Coffee lovers around the world raised their mugs in honor of National Coffee Day, but there’s a lot more to coffee than what’s in those cups. 

Coffee is one of the most sought after commodities in the world, second only to crude oil, and serves as the livelihood of more than 25 million people worldwide. 

Reporters Sara Tiano and Caitlin Plummer spoke with experts about economical, environmental and social aspects of America’s favorite drink.
