The Selden Ring is an award for exceptional journalism with outstanding civic impact. A team of reporters from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel have won 8 awards - including USC's Selden Ring award - for their 'Deadly Delays' investigation. They explain the importance of investigative journalism and how they used data from hospitals across the nation to tell the story. States and hospitals have changed their practices to prevent delays to critical tests for newborns, saving babies' lives.
