Eric Garcetti's 8.1 billion dollar budget gets 'Back to the basics'

42nd Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti has promised to take a 'back to the basics approach during his first four years. His budget proposal consists of additional library hours, road repairs, and job creation. Deputy mayor Rick Cole says that Garcetti is working on ways to generate the city's revenue while limiting worker's compensation costs. The budget is still waiting for approval from the Los Angeles City Council. If approved the budget will take effect July 1st.
