With women earning 77 cents for every dollar men make, a group of volunteers from Organizing for America, President Obama's grassroots organization, gathered to advocate for a $10.10 national minimum wage and pay equality.
Two out of every three minimum wage workers are women. Opponents say California businesses are already struggling and a minimum wage increase would be a job-killer. Proponents say that opinion is based on a narrow economic view and just isn't the case.
Movement, if any at all, will be slow as Congress gears up for November's midterm elections.
