The numbers in prostitution in Los Angeles are rising. The Van Nuys district officials, LAPD and non-profit organization The Mary Magdalene Project are working together to help women get away from that environment and start a new life.

The United Nation recently stated that legalizing prostitution could be the key to controlling what happens in the business and can also decrease sex trafficking. Professor Tonald Weitzer says legalizing prostiution can work depending on different countries, but he does not see the United States implementing this strategy soon.
