Healthcare and technology have been on the minds of many, after the nation experienced numerous glitches with the affordable care website. However, the idea of using technology to promote a cause may be the wave of the future. For one grassroots organization the idea using clipboards to sign people up for a cause, may soon sound like a thing of the past and a smart phone is the device of the future.
California Calls is a growing alliance of 31 grassroots, community-based organizations spanning urban, rural and suburban counties across the state. From October 30 to November 10 California Calls will be going door-to-door to educate and encourage voters to enroll into the Affordable Care Act, neighborhoods in East and South Los Angeles and Oxnard in Ventura County, and this year volunteers will be using a smart phone to store data from respondents.
