Wade Davis grew up in the South, in a neighborhood in which there was a stigma against LGBT people. As an NFL player, Davis struggled to keep his homosexuality a secret and being something that he learned was inherently wrong. After retiring from the NFL, Davis tours the country in support of LGBT athletes being openly gay. Davis is also the director of an organization that helps develop LGBT youth. Victor Figueroa interviewed Davis about his time as an NFL player and his experiences growing up, as well as what he is doing now to help gay athletes.
Davis was at USC as part of a conference on Sports and the LGBT Experience.
