The Watts Labor Community Action Committee hosted a free swine flu vaccination clinic and information to the community of Watts. Timothy Watkins, the president and CEO of the WLCAC spoke to the need for information and resources in Watts, which has suffered both from severe poverty and high health risks. Hundreds of people arrived for the vaccination which is being offered to priority groups: pregnant women, children 6 months to 24 years old, health care workers and adults with chronic health conditions. The WLCAC hopes that they can assist the resident of Watts in making informed decisions for their health.
