Los Angeles is often seen as a city of haves and have nots, but those in the middle are getting squeezed too. The population of working poor in Los Angeles County is 7.5 percentage points higher than in the country as a whole, according to a new report, "L.A. County 10 Years Later: A Tale of Two Cities, One Future." The United Way of Greater Los Angeles, which issued the report, is working with business and civic leaders for improvements in jobs, education and housing in Los Angeles County.
