Photos from the protest at UCLA over UC tuition increases

Thousands of students protested tuition increases outside the UC Board of Regents meeting at UCLA on Thursday, November 19, 2009. The regents were considering a 32 percent tuition hike to cope with massive state budget cuts. After it was announced they had approved the increase, protesters surrounded the building, blocked roads and chased down anyone that tried to leave. Riot police stood guard around the building as students chanted and screamed. It was a climactic end to a 24-hour protest. Timothy Beck Werth was there and filed this report from the scene:
