The case was Windsor v. United States. After the death of her spouse, Edith Windsor was denied the marital deduction for her estate taxes. Today, a three-judge panel in New York said she should have gotten those benefits.

We speak with USC constitutional law professor David Cruz about today's 2-1 ruling.
