The Future of Proposition 8 in the Supreme Court

Earlier today, a Federal Appeals Court struck down Proposition 8, California's ban on same-sex marriage.

The backers of Prop 8 - a coalition called Protect Marriage -- will most likely appeal the decision.

They may appeal directly to the Supreme Court.

Berkeley law professor Jesse Choper joined the show to talk about his reaction to the ruling. He specializes in constitutional law.
