In a society that runs on technology and social media, it's no surprise that we check Facebook, Twitter or Google several times throughout the day. But what if those simple, taken for granted rights were foreign to us and only a dream on the horizon? In Iran, they are just that - freedom of the press, unbiased journalism, or even the ability to surf the Internet are are banned by the oppressive government.
I spoke about the issue with director of voice of America's Persian News Network and the highest ranking Iranian-American career foreign service officer in the State Department, Ramin Asgard.
