Thousands of students protested tuition increases outside the UC Board of Regents meeting at UCLA. The regents were considering a 32 percent tuition hike to cope with massive state budget cuts. After it was announced they had approved the increase, protesters surrounded the building, blocked roads and chased down anyone that tried to leave. Riot police stood guard around the building as students chanted and screamed. It was a climactic end to a 24-hour protest.
