LAUSD layoffs?

The board contemplates its final decision on layoffs. Superintendent Ramon Cortinez now says if the board doesn't go along with the plan, he's prepared to quit. More than 8,000 district employees, including thousands of teachers, are set to be laid off. Many of them gathered outside the meeting to challenge the layoffs.
