As Black History Month comes to an end, Annenberg Radio News looks at the vibrant jazz scene that sprang up around south Los Angeles' Central Avenue.
Charles Mingus, Buddy Collette, and Dexter Gordon were just some of the legendary Jazz musicians that came out of the thriving music scene on Central Avenue from the 1930s to the 1950s. David Chong talks with saxophonist Buddy Collette who recreates the sights and sounds from that era.
