The Bush Administration is waiving environmental laws and regulations to expedite construction of a fence along the border between United States and Mexico. Supporters of the border fence say the waivers are necessary to finish the construction quickly to prevent more illegal immigrants from coming into the United States. But environmentalists are concerned that the fence will harm wildlife at the border, which is already experiencing ecological deterioration.
