Annenberg Radio News is starting a new podcast in Spring 2011 called Detours with radio producer and ARN adjunct teacher Karen Lowe. It will be an offbeat podcast in which students can experiment with new approaches for sound, scene-setting, writing and audio production. This is for adventurous writers and producers who suffer from mental drift when listening to traditional radio and want to find ways to tell stories creatively. To get an idea of the kind of out-of-the-box creativity you can play with click here. Students must be available Mondays for 3 hours between 10 am and 4 pm, and they must take the ARN workshops the week of January 24, 2011. To apply, fill out an ARN application online here. If you are interested in receiving directed research credit for your participation in this podcast, please see ARN Director Willa Seidenberg or email [email protected].
