Sheyna Gifford is a journalist, a medical doctor, an astrophysicist and one of the six NASA astronauts isolated on simulated Mars as part of the Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulations (HI-SEAS). For the coming year, Gifford and her colleagues are living in a geodisic dome in Hawaii.  She sent ARN an audio post about what it's like to feel very, very far from home.
